Who we are and how to contact us
The controller for information covered by this policy is Apara Limited, a company registered in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. For privacy questions or requests, use to copy our email address and write to us directly.
Information we collect
Waitlist and messages. If you join the waitlist, we collect the name and email address you enter, your subscription status, and records of messages sent or interactions with them. If you contact us, we collect the details you provide and our correspondence.
Purchases and licenses. When paid Guise offerings become available, we may receive purchase, billing, license, and transaction information needed to deliver your purchase and provide support. The payment processor handles your payment-card information; Guise does not receive or store your full card number.
Website and app use. Our hosting and delivery providers may process limited technical information such as your IP address, browser or device type, operating system, request information, timestamps, and security logs. Guise may also check for app updates and receive limited diagnostics when those features are enabled.
Content you open in Guise. Screenshots, recordings, annotations, and other work you create in the Guise app remain stored locally on your Mac unless you deliberately share or export them. Guise does not upload that content to Apara servers. When you open an external website or Figma prototype, your Mac connects to the service hosting that content, and that service’s privacy practices apply.
How we use information
We use information to operate the website and app, maintain the waitlist, send the offer and launch notices you requested, deliver purchases and licenses, provide support, secure our services, diagnose problems, and comply with legal duties. We may send occasional product updates if you have chosen to receive them or where permitted by law. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time; necessary purchase or service messages may still be sent.
Legal grounds where applicable
Where a law requires us to identify a legal basis, we rely on consent for optional marketing and non-essential cookies; performance of a contract or steps you request before entering one for purchases and support; legal obligations for required records; and legitimate interests for security, fraud prevention, and improving the service, balanced against your rights. The applicable basis may vary by activity and location.
Who receives information
We share information only as needed with providers that support Guise, including Vercel for website hosting and Loops for waitlist management and email delivery. A payment provider may process purchase information when paid offerings become available. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business reorganisation. We do not sell your personal information.
International transfers
Apara Limited is based in the United Arab Emirates, and our service providers may process information in other countries. Where applicable law requires it, we rely on contractual protections or another recognised transfer mechanism to protect personal information transferred internationally.
How long we keep information
We keep waitlist information while you remain subscribed and delete or anonymise it when it is no longer needed, except for a limited suppression record required to respect an unsubscribe request. We keep support, purchase, and accounting records for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Technical logs are retained only for operational and security needs.
Cookies and similar technologies
The website uses essential browser storage where needed to remember interface state and provide requested functionality. We do not currently use advertising cookies. If we introduce non-essential analytics or similar technologies, we will update this policy and request consent where required.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from promotional emails using the link in each message. Depending on where you live, you may also request access to, correction or deletion of, or restriction or portability of, your personal information; object to certain uses; or withdraw consent. We will respond as required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity. You may also complain to the relevant data protection authority. Use to copy our email address and make a request.
Security and children
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the information we handle, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Guise is intended for people aged 16 or older, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product or law changes. We will publish the current version with its effective date and provide additional notice where required.
